The NEDA Walk gave me the opportunity to spread awareness about this serious topic as well as raise money to fund treatment centers. I also met other treatment programs and they informed me of the many options they provide to a wide range of people.
I also talked about my goals of educating staff members so young teens can receive the help needed. I participated in the multiple activities they provided and listened to the speakers as they shared their stories and pain with all of us. It inspired me to continue spreading information and awareness in my community.
Additionally, I connected with numerous advocates who are equally passionate about promoting mental health and eating disorder awareness. Hearing firsthand accounts from those who have struggled with eating disorders deepened my understanding of the challenges they face. The event highlighted the importance of community support in the recovery process. Moving forward, I am more determined than ever to contribute to local initiatives and support those affected by eating disorders.
